Born in New Delhi in 1985, Tanya Goel studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts, MS University, Baroda, and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago before earning her MFA from Yale University in 2010. She has held solo exhibitions with Nature Morte (New Delhi, 2018; New York, 2019), Galerie Mirchandani + Steinruecke (Mumbai, 2011, 2015), and Jessica Silverman Gallery (San Francisco, 2023). In 2022, the Royal Museum of Fine Arts of Belgium presented a 15-year survey of her work. Her works are part of collections including the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art, The Philadelphia Museum of Art, and the Istanbul Museum of Modern Art. She participated in the Sydney and Gwangju Biennales in 2018. A site-specific work, Index V, was exhibited at the Philadelphia Museum of Art in 2020 as part of Fault Lines, curated by Amanda Sroka.
